Jonathan w Campbell is a writer, promoter, agent, manager, drummer and more. He lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with his wife and dog.
There is all kinds of information on him — and about Chinese rock and roll, or, yaogun — at his website, most important of which is that his first book, Red Rock: The Long, Strange March of Chinese Rock & Roll, will be published in October, 2011. His website contains loads of information about the book, as does this Facebook page

Hi Jonathan,
I’m reading your book and am thoroughly impressed with it so far. Quick question: you refer to a Filipino Surf Pop band ‘Nitaige’er’. I was intrigued by the sound of such a band but with a Google Search, find very little, if any information on them. Have you any tips on where one can find a sample of their recordings?
Keep up the good work…
Cheers
Pete
Thanks for the note, Pete and glad you like what you see. I wish I could find out about Nitaige’er. They seem to have been lost to (Chinese rock) history — the name is a Sinicization of their actual name, so it’s hard to know what that might even be. I’ve asked and looked around the Chinese world; wonder if a Filipino search might help things…
